Visual Art Director Hi! I am so glad that you have decided to browse through the TMS Bulldog Studio web page. I am Brenda Keeton-Fariss, the Visual Art teacher/Fine Arts Department Chair at Thomson MIddle School in Thomson, Georgia. I have been teaching at TMS since 1989. I am from Montgomery, Alabama where I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1973. I graduated summa cum laude from Troy State Univeristy (TSU) in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art and in 1989 with a Master of Science in Education with emphasis on art . While at TSU in Troy, Alabama, I studied drawing and painting under the direction of Woodi Ishmael, and drawing, painting, and photography under the direction of Sergei Shillabeer, and metal design and art education classes under the direction of Pat Duke. I have had showings of my drawings and paintings in the Montgomery Museum of Art and the Malone Gallery. I am certified to teach Visual Art at the pre-Kindergarten level through the high school level. I love art. I love teaching. And, I love teaching art to my children. I love hearing the expression, "I now see the lines!" I love to see the confidence that builds among my students when they realize that they, too, can draw and that they, too, can be creative!
